After government forces committed a massacre to break up the two-month long sit-in at Sudanese Military Headquarters in Khartoum, the tense and controversial negotiations process between the Forces of Freedom and Change (a coalition of opposition movements representing the revolutionaries) and the Transitional Military Council (a government established after the overthrow of Omar al-Bashir through military coup on April 11th) came to an end. With at least 100 dead and hundreds injured, devastated revolutionaries have escalated their civil disobedience, and the Sudanese Professionals Association and the Forces of Freedom and Change have called for the downfall of the TMC.

At the trial, al-Bashir is accused of misusing 90 million dollars from Saudi Arabia, in addition to 25 million dollars he received from Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman personally, with al-Bashir himself admitting he received two payments of 30 million and 35 million dollars from King Abdallah.

Revolutionaries protest in front of SPA HQ after FFC sources report that a member of the Baath Party, a member of the Umma Party, and a member of the SPA will be nominated for the sovereign council despite prior promises by the SPA and the FFC that neither the SPA nor any members of political parties would hold positions in the sovereign council.

The Sudanese Women’s Union protests the FFC’s sovereign council nominees, demanding equal representation in all levels of governance and stating that the FFC failed to consult women while making its list of nominees.
